Residents Can Help Annapolis PD With Thanksgiving Food Drive
Donations are being accepted now through Nov. 22 as the Annapolis Police Department assembles Thanksgiving meal kits for residents.
ANNAPOLIS, MD — The community is invited to assist the Annapolis Police Department with its Thanksgiving food drive. The department is accepting donations of specific food items now through Nov. 22, then packaging those items into meals to be delivered to local families for the holidays. Remaining food items will be donated to local food pantries.
The department is asking for donations of 5-pound bags of potatoes, 2-pound bags of onions, jars of gravy, cans of cranberry sauce, cans of sweet potatoes, cans of green beans, bags or boxes of stuffing, cans of cream of mushroom soup and french fried onions. Other items needed are boxed pastas and pasta sauce, peanut butter and jelly, cereal, soups and other canned meals, boxed macaroni and cheese, healthy snacks like breakfast bars and dried fruit, and baby food. The department advises people to check expiration dates, because expired food will not be accepted. Donations can be delivered at any time to the police department at 199 Taylor Avenue.
