Roommate Uses Rifle to Win Argument: Annapolis Police Calls

In the last 24 hours Annapolis Police officers responded to 87 calls for service and arrested 14 people.

Stolen and Recovered Vehicle – 1000 block of Norman Dr – 04/26 at 6pm to 04/27 at 7am: A Toyota Corolla was stolen from the parking lot. The vehicle was recovered by the Maryland State Police on 04/27 at 10:17am after it was located unoccupied in a ditch off the ramp from I-95 to MD Route 100.

Burglary – 200 block of Admiral Dr – 04/27 from 8am to 11:20pm: A 32” Element television, a Microsoft Xbox game console with two controllers and two video games, and a Samsung Galaxy S2 cell phone were stolen from a home after an unlocked front window was entered.

Assault – Unit block of Cornhill St – 04/28 at 12:01am: Two adult male roommates argued when one of them, Darren Mills, 29, of Annapolis, reportedly pointed the muzzle end of a rifle at the other. Officers were called to the home and found Mills outside and the rifle in a duffle bag under a parked car. The rifle was seized and Mills was arrested and charged with first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and use of a firearm in a violent crime. He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $75,000 bond.

A group of officers from the Annapolis Police Department have formed a team to carry the Flame of Hope through Annapolis on Wednesday, May 27th, on a leg of its journey to the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles.
