Trump Appeals To Base By Telling Agencies Not To Enforce Laws
President Trump on Thursday signed an executive order that was crafted to appeal to his base. It does two things — both of which involve telling agencies not to enforce laws that are on the books. One, it tells agencies not to worry so much about a mandate under Obamacare that required employers to provide insurance covering contraception. The other says ease off on the law prohibiting religious institutions from political activities. (Patch).

California: Work On The Wall Or Work With Us
The state Senate in California is considering legislation that will give companies a simple choice: work on Trump's wall or do business with the state. The bill would ban the state from doing business with companies that work on the wall. (Patch).
Trayvon Martin Getting Posthumous Degree
It's been about five years since Trayvon Martin was gunned down by George Zimmerman, who was later acquitted. When Florida Memorial University has its graduation, Trayvon will be awarded a posthumous bachelor of science degree in aviation with a concentration in flight education. The school says it honors the steps he took toward becoming a pilot. (Patch).

It was Star Wars Day on Thursday — the anniversary of the movie's release — and a day showing the power of puns to affect the calendar. The thing is, not everyone knows about May 4 and Star Wars Day. So, when a parent saw someone dressed in black walking into a school, the parent called police. The school was evacuated. It was a kid in a Darth Vader costume. (Patch).

Painting Lost, Now Found Auctioned To Fund Scholarships
For years, Washington High School in Milwaukee had two rare paintings by Birger Sandzen. One was sold for $351,000 a bit ago. This week, the other was auctioned, also for hundreds of thousands of dollars. In all, the school now has $771,000 to help fund scholarships for graduates. (Patch).
Emma Stone Couldn't Make The Prom
A high school student in Arizona went above and beyond making a "promposal" video recreating the opening of "La La Land." His goal? Get Emma Stone to go to the prom with him. She couldn't make it, but she sent a gift. (Patch).
