An Acne Eduction Workshop
(for preteen, teen and young adults)
* Saving face- the desire to maintain dignity, avoid humiliation or embarrassment.
Over the years I have treated adults and teens alike for their Acne. One thing that I have noticed with my adult acne clients is that most were never taught how to properly care for their skin's condition. Usually given bad advice that has/had actually made it worse. This has been a huge confidence crusher that they have dealt with their whole lives. I want to help teens that are prone to more serious breakouts learn the basics on managing their skin now. Saving them and their faces from years of rude and ignorant comments. They will then be able to focus on the things that are really important and allow them to put their best face forward. Teaching techniques on how to care for the skin while gaining confidence. Teen Vogue recently posted a question to their followers on Tumblr. They asked 'what should you never tell someone who has acne?'. The result's which were compiled into a 'Top 10' that I will list below are heartbreaking. It shows the little jabs these teens have to deal with daily without the benefit of an Instagram filter. Being a teenager can be stressful enough today let's not make it even harder. Acne can be controlled when you are educated properly. I have developed a workshop that will help my students to understand the causes and arm them with a basic knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, dietary tips and other tricks for clearer skin.
Saving Face! is a one-hour Acne Education program for students suffering from more active breakouts . It is designed to teach the basics of caring for their skin, acne prevention strategies and ways to get unsightly blemishes under control at home. This workshop is a great way to help students understand the truth about acne, debunk the myths and help build confidence. It will also provide the teen with encouragement to open up, ask questions and get some real answers.
