UPDATE: Small Fire Briefly Closed Main Street in Annapolis
The Annapolis Fire Department responded to a call of smoke and an electrical odor in a Main Street business.
UPDATE: 2:20 p.m.
Tony Spencer, an Annapolis Fire Department spokesman, said the incident occurred at at 220 Main St.
He said the department received the call at about 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, and that someone from the store said there was some smoke in the building and they could smell an electrical odor.

Crews shut down power to the building and store officials are waiting for an electrical contractor to inspect the building, Spencer said.

Spencer said fire crews cleared the scene at about 1 p.m.

Annapolis Fire Department crews responded to a small fire Wednesday afternoon in a Main Street building, shutting down the busy road for about an hour.
Fire trucks from the also responded to the call.
Crews were clearing the scene at about 1 p.m.
Main Street was closed from Conduit Street to Church Circle. There also was a Baltimore, Gas and Electric Co. truck on the scene.
Tony Spencer, a spokesman for the Annapolis Fire Department, said he was still awaiting specific information on the fire.
