St. Patrick's Day party: an OK, memorable event at senior activity center
A little green, an Irish jig and lots of reminiscing made for a wonderful St. Patrick's Day party at the Annapolis Senior Activity Center.

Not everyone wore green to the St. Patrick’s Day party at the Annapolis Senior Activity Center on March 18, but that was OK because there was plenty of green to go around – green Shamrocks, green stickers, green punch, green cake and green ice cream.
Not everyone danced an Irish jig either, but that was OK because at the end of the party many of the seniors gathered around the stage to tell the Nostalgia band members how much they appreciated their performance. “We used to sing those old songs all the time,” one senior told the band members. “It brings back a lot of memories.”
“I just love the orchestra,” said another. “And the lead singer – he’s really good.”

The band shifted back and forth between oldies and Irish songs, taking the seniors on trips down memory lane. They were also impressed to see Annapolis Senior Activity Center member Bill Taylor, age 94, playing trombone with the group.
Other band members included Frank Cappadora who sang and played keyboard, Richard Estrin on clarinet and saxophone, and John Norville, drummer. Some of these musicians were also known to the seniors as musicians playing with the group, the 1940’s Guys.
