Suspect With Targets to Kill Held Without Bail

The man was arrested at the Giant store in Edgewater after allegedly threatening to stab and shoot shoppers.

EDGEWATER, MD — A man with two guns and boxes of ammunition in his car was recently arrested at the Edgewater Giant store after he allegedly threatened to kill people at the business.

Kirk Steven Green, 56, of 3501 Cedar Drive in Edgewater, was ordered held without bail Dec. 10 on several charges. His roommate told authorities that Green is a paranoid schizophrenic; he was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center for evaluation.

Police were called to the grocery store Dec. 5 on reports that Green was talking to himself while walking around the business, and claimed he could shoot customers.

One person told Anne Arundel County Police that Green told him, “I could take my gun out and kill you.” He also reportedly told shoppers he could stab them.

Green allegedly told the responding officer that he is fighting to reclaim territory from the government.

“I own you and the government,” Green reportedly told the officer. “I can kill people, I can kill everyone.”

When a search of his residence turned up no weapons, police seized his vehicle from the Giant parking lot and searched it. In the Nissan Versa officers found a shotgun, rifle and a dozen boxes of ammunition.

Investigators also found a briefcase in the vehicle with Green’s writings, noting a long effort to contact government agencies and officials.

One of his papers said, “Keep track of targets = everything dead - NSA, CIA, FBI, Secret Service, DOD, IRS, SSec, NASA, State Dept., White House, MD State Attorney, House of Rep, Navy.”

Green faces two counts of illegal possession of firearms, illegal possession of ammunition, and one count each of illegal possession of a shotgun and a rifle, according to charging documents.
