Annapolis Police are looking for two men who beat a car owner, then deliberately crashed the stolen vehicle into a police car.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Annapolis Police are looking for two men who reportedly beat a car owner, then crashed the stolen vehicle into a police car and parked vehicles Sunday night. The assault was reported about 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the unit block of Melrob Court as a man left his apartment and was assaulted by two men, who took the victim’s vehicle keys.

Authorities say the suspects fled on foot and the victim and a relative chased the suspects into the Bay Ridge Gardens community, where they lost sight of the suspects.

The victim was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

Officers kept checks on the victim’s vehicle throughout the day, but at 9:15 p.m. police were notified that it had been stolen. About 15 minutes later, officers saw the victim's vehicle being driven in the 1100 block of Madison Street. The two occupants jumped out of the stolen vehicle while it was still in drive, which caused the vehicle to first hit a police car and then forced a parked vehicle into another parked vehicle.

No injuries were reported from the collisions.
