Tides & Tunes: Free Summer Concert Series Alongside the Breathtaking Back-Drop of the Chesapeake Bay

Tides and Tunes is a free, family-friendly and dog-friendly summer concert series held every Thursday at Annapolis Maritime Museum's campus.

Last Thursday’s event, just with a threat of rain around 7 p.m., Annapolis Maritime Museum kicked-off its free summer concert series, Tides & Tunes, presented by Adams Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. There was an outstanding performance by local band D’Vibe & Conga. The concert brought in guests of all ages, and some guests brought their furry friends along too! Concerts performances started June 16 and are held every Thursday from 7-8:30 p.m. until August 18. The family-friendly and dog-family atmosphere provides guests with an entertaining concert experience overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. Children were digging in the sand, while their parents sat and listened to the concert.

Tides &Tunes is an exceptional way for families to enjoy live music while overlooking the extraordinary view of the Museum’s waterfront campus. AMM’s Executive Director, Alice Estrada, says “The concerts appeal to all ages, and even our four-legged friends. They are truly magical as folks enjoy live music, visit with neighbors and enjoy our beautiful Bay view on warm summer evenings.”

During the concert, food is available for purchase, and although outside alcohol is prohibited, adult guests are welcome to purchase beer, wine and signature cocktails from either of the two bars. Guests typically bring a blanket or lawn chairs for a seated and more comfy concert experience. Regarding inclement weather for future concerts, AMM says “the show must go on,” and will hold the concert on the tented back pier and inside the Museum.

The Museum’s waterfront concert location allows guests to transport to the concert in multiple ways. Last night, some AMM members arrived to the concert via boat, and were able to enjoy the concert without leaving the comforts of their boat! Many guests who drove to last night’s concert were able to get comfortably situated on the lawn, or were able to walk around and socialize with other guests near one of the two bars.

AMM is extremely grateful to have Adams Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM sponsor the Thursday night Tides & Tunes summer concert series. Although concert admission is free, donations are greatly appreciated, and will go towards AMM’s environmental education programs, which educates over 6,000 students annually.
