Oyster Harbor Fire Destroys One House, Damages Two More Homes
Anne Arundel County Fire officials say one house on Annapolis Neck was destroyed and two more houses were damaged early Monday.
ANNAPOLIS, MD — Anne Arundel County Fire officials say one house on Annapolis Neck was destroyed and two more houses were damaged early Monday in a two-alarm fire that required nearly 100 firefighters from several fire departments.
The Anne Arundel County 9-1-1 Center received multiple calls reporting a house fire in the Oyster Harbor community about 1:25 a.m. The first unit to arrive in the 1300 block of Harbor Road found a house totally engulfed in fire. Houses on either side of the original fire were also on fire because of the excessive heat and flames, fire officials said.
A second alarm was called, bringing a total of 91 firefighters from Anne Arundel County, Annapolis, and Naval District Washington - Naval Academy Fire Departments to the scene. Due to the lack of public water in the area, tankers and a fire boat were used to supply water to battle the fire.
