NWS Confirms 2 Tornadoes Struck MD As Power Outages Linger After Storms
Power outages are lingering in Maryland as emergency crews work to clean up damages, including some caused by two confirmed tornadoes.

Power outages are lingering in Maryland after severe storms knocked out power lines, brought down trees and flooded roadways.
At the peak of Tuesday's storms, more than 30,000 people were without electricity. Most of the outages were reported in Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Howard and Prince George's counties.

The latest figures released Wednesday afternoon by the BGE and Pepco Electric utilities showed nearly 5,000 customers were still dealing with electrical outages.
BGE said in a statement that crews were working to repair damaged wires, with plans to restore service to at least 80% of impacted customers by 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Full restoration isn't expected until Thursday.
Damages reported across the state saw serious flooding in Fells Point and uprooted trees crashing into homes in Pasadena and Gaithersburg. See video of Montgomery County damage.
In Baltimore County, officials reported over 30 cases of downed trees. Some residents also recorded large pieces of hail in the Dundalk area.
In the northwest area of Washington, D.C., a shocking site emerged when strong winds brought down the awning of a Mobil gas station located off Georgia Avenue. No one was injured in the crash.
Tornadoes Confirmed In Talbot County
While emergency crews continue clearing downed trees and managing road closures, the National Weather Service confirmed two tornadoes touched down in Talbot County.
While one tornado struck along the Trappe community's Backtown Road, the second touched down near Tarbutton Mill Road. NWS officials rated the tornadoes an EF-1 and EF-0, respectively.
The confirmation came hours after county officials announced storm surveys were being conducted by the agency on Wednesday. Damages caused by both tornadoes ranged from damaged trees to structural damage at an industrial park and an outbuilding.

Large parts of Maryland were placed under a mix of weather-related watches and warnings alerting residents to severe thunderstorm conditions, flooding and possible tornadoes. The last notifications expired late into the night.
