Two Annapolis Pedestrians Hit By Drunk Driver: Police

Annapolis Police say a man suffered life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a car; a second person was also hurt.

Annapolis, MD — Two pedestrians were hit by a car early Tuesday in Annapolis, and police have charged the driver for driving under the influence.

The accident happened at 12:30 a.m. at Forest Drive at Hilltop Lane. Annapolis Police say the victims were struck by a vehicle traveling on Forest Drive.

One pedestrian, a 26-year-old woman from Annapolis, was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center with serious injuries. The other pedestrian, a 32-year-old man from Annapolis, was taken to the University of Baltimore Shock Trauma Center by helicopter with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, James Bruce, 74, of Annapolis, remained at the scene and was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired.

The accident investigation is continuing.
