Weather cooperates to make event successful

No snow. No rain. Just bright sunshine and lots of children running around, filling their baskets and bags with Easter eggs.

About 80 children from the Admiral Heights, Germantown and Homewood communities were delighted by not only the opportunity to gather eggs, but also to play with other children. In addition to the children, parents, grandparents, friends and siblings also attended, adding up to an estimated 200 in attendance.

About eight helpers hid more than a thousand eggs with the thought that each child might find around 15 eggs. Some eggs were special. Finders of golden eggs, glittery eggs, and specially designed “parents” eggs got their choice of prizes, including Easter baskets, toys and gift certificates.

It seemed like it took less than five minutes for all the Easter eggs to be gathered. It took considerably more time to play, visit with neighbors, and just relax and enjoy the sun.
