Woman Missing 1 Year, Police Release New Details In Plea For Help

Annapolis Police released photos of a woman who was reported missing one year ago, in hopes the public can help find her.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Annapolis Police on Thursday released photos of a woman who was reported missing one year ago, in hopes the public can help find her. Authorities are investigating the disappearance of Megan Tilman, 42, of Annapolis, who was reported missing on Nov. 1, 2017. According to a news release, police released more information about her disappearance in hopes of reuniting Tilman with her family.

A cousin of Tilman’s reported her missing to police last year; police say Tilman had become estranged from her family in the months before her disappearance. When family members realized that no one had heard from her for several weeks, she was reported missing to the Annapolis Police Department.

At the time Tilman was living in a rented townhome in the unit block of Rockwell Court in Annapolis with her mother, Gloria Owens, 62, her fiancé/boyfriend, William Rice Jr., 43, and Christina Stallings, 41. Police say Stallings also goes by the names Crystal Stallings, Christina Harnish and Christina McGrath. Before her disappearance, Tilman’s mother had moved out of the house; Rice and Stallings subsequently moved out of state.

Detectives say the last verified contact anyone had with Tilman was on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017.

She has a daughter who is now 7 years old; the girl was not living with Tilman at the time of her disappearance but they were in regular contact. Tilman regularly updated social media accounts, but has not done that or contacted her family since her disappearance, police say.

Tilman's champagne-colored 1998 Jeep Cherokee with Maryland registration 5DA7534 was found abandoned at a shopping center in Prince George's County on Nov. 13, 2017. Police released photos of the SUV in the hope someone may have seen the vehicle in the weeks before it was found in Prince George's County.

The vehicle had several distinctive stickers on the rear. On the passenger side of the rear bumper was a sticker with a picture of a sailboat reading, “Put An Island In Your Life Put-in-Bay, Ohio.”

On the upper portion of the driver’s side of the rear windshield was a sticker with a picture of a motorcycle reading, “LOOK TWICE SAVE A LIFE.” On the bottom portion of the middle of the rear windshield was a sticker with a picture of pink wings reading, “HARLEY-DAVIDSON MOTOR CYCLES.” On the upper portion of the passenger side of the rear windshield was a sticker with a picture of animal paw prints.

Tilman reportedly can be easily manipulated and has been described as having borderline intellectual functioning. Detectives are seeking information from anyone who had contact with her, Rice, or Stallings in the weeks leading up to, and after, Tilman's disappearance, anyone who may have seen her vehicle or anyone who can provide any information about her disappearance.
