Woman Shot in Car; Second Shooting in a Week: Annapolis Police

For the second time in a week, Annapolis Police say a woman was injured by gunfire on the street.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — For the second time in a week, a woman has been shot on an Annapolis street, officials say.

Most recently, Annapolis Police officers were called about 10:30 p.m. Sunday to the 1400 block of Tyler Avenue, where they found a 20-year-old woman who was shot. The victim was the passenger in a vehicle.

Three other unoccupied vehicles were struck by gunfire.

The victim was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

In the earlier incident, on Aug. 2 a woman was shot in the arm just before 10 p.m. in the 700 block of Newtowne Drive. Her injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

Authorities released no information on a possible motive or a description of suspects in either case.
