ANNAPOLIS, MD — In the blink of an eye, life can tailspin out of control in the most horrific way. Realtor Justin Disborough was riding his motorcycle near his home recently when he was involved in a serious accident. Disborough, he owns Meet This House, was airlifted to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center where he was diagnosed with numerous serious injuries including a fractured spine at the T4 and T5 vertebrae, causing him to be paralyzed from the waist down, said Travis Moore, Disborough's cousin.

Moore told Patch that as a father of a one-year-old son Pierce and husband to Erin, Disborough is well known in the community and people have been rallying around the family. So Moore started a GoFundMe campaign for everyone who wanted to help the young family and business owner.

"He's one of the most generous and decent human beings I've ever met," Moore said. "We (hope) to cover part of the expenses of their transition and it raised $39,000 in 24 hours, which is a testament to how much he and his wife Erin are loved in the greater Annapolis community."

Disborough will endure long-term specialized treatment and spend many weeks in rehabilitation. Modifications will need to be made to their home, vehicle and elsewhere, Moore said.

"There will be significant costs associated with this transition," Moore said. "The road to recovery will be long."
