Anne Arundel County Smokers Invited To Quit With Special Kit
Anne Arundel County smokers who are around kids can order a special kit from the health department that will help them kick the habit.
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD -- Smoking and secondhand smoke can be linked to lung cancer in adults and SIDS, preterm births, low-weight births, infant asthma and ear infections in babies. The Anne Arundel County Department of Health hopes to help expecting moms, parents, grandparents and caregivers who smoke kick the habit with a special kit.
The kits include a directory of health and social resources, and contain information on the dangers of secondhand smoke. The kits also have advice on maintaining a smoke-free environment, too.
To order the free kits, Anne Arundel County residents can visit www.aahealthybabies.org or call 410-222-7223. For information about free smoking cessation classes and quit smoking kits, call the Learn To Live Line at 410-222-7979 or visit www.LearnToLiveHealthy.org.
