Severna Park Man Killed In Boat Crash Over Memorial Day Weekend
A spokeswoman for Maryland Natural Resources Police told media outlets the crash happened in an area of the river called "The Narrows."

SEVERNA PARK, MD — A Severna Park man has been identified as the victim in a deadly boat crash early Sunday on the Severn River. Daniel Youngblood, 51, was killed when his boat struck Marker 13 early Sunday, the Capital Gazette reported.
Maryland Natural Resources Police confirmed the death on Twitter and said it was the fifth boating death this year. An investigation remains ongoing.

Youngblood had been on his 27-foot fishing boat with a couple friends when they hit Marker 13 at roughly 30 to 40 mph, police spokeswoman Candy Thomson told the Capital Gazette. The boat was heading back from Annapolis.
County Fire spokesman Capt. Russ Davies told the newspaper the boat was brought into a private pier in Crownsville. Emergency workers tried to save Youngblood, but he was declared dead at the scene around 2 a.m.

It wasn't immediately known who was operating the boat.
Severna Park is in Anne Arundel County, about 8 miles north of Annapolis and 17 miles south of Baltimore.
