Candle Causes $25K In Damage To Pasadena Home: Report

Officials said a candle caused a house fire in Pasadena. The blaze displaced four residents and caused $25,000 in damage, a report added.

PASADENA, MD — Officials said a bedroom candle accidentally lit a Pasadena house on fire on March 18. The flames caused $25,000 in damage while displacing three adults and a child, a press release added.

The occupants called 911 to report the blaze around 3:05 p.m., the write-up noted. The fire department explained that the home's smoke detectors sounded, but the residents had already spotted the flames.

Crews advised that they found smoke and fire coming from the windows and the side of the main level of the 1.5-story, single-family home.

First responders indicated that a team of 29 firefighters came to the scene, located in the 200 block of Arundel Road. The squad extinguished most of the flames within 10 minutes and controlled the blaze within another 20, officials informed.

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department did not report any injuries. The Red Cross is helping the residents with housing, the department mentioned.
