Coming Up: 20th Annual Bike To Work Day In Anne Arundel County

On May 19, Anne Arundel County is encouraging residents to bike to work in an effort to boost fitness and limit emissions.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD -- On Friday, May 19, get ready for a bike ride. Anne Arundel County is promoting fitness and helping to cut down on emissions with the annual Bike to Work Day.

Tabitha Ernst, the Rideshare Coordinator for Anne Arundel County, is heading up the event. "Our goal is to encourage our citizens to Bike to Work every day," she said. "We hope to improve the air quality of the county while reducing traffic on our roads."

Pit stops will be scattered throughout the county during the morning commuting hours, offering free participatory t-shirts and light refreshments to riders. Each pit stop will be open for riders from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., with the exception of the Downtown Annapolis location, which will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
