Crofton Redistricting Plans Halted After Judge Issues Ruling: Report
A redistricting effort that was set to impact hundreds of Crofton-area students this fall was put on pause after a challenge by families.
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — A redistricting effort that was set to have widespread impacts on Crofton-area students has been put on pause, according to reports.
Under redistricting plans approved last November, students were on the path to be split into several schools at the start of the 2026-2027 school year. However, Monday court proceedings put a pin in the looming change, The Banner reported.
The pause was the result of a legal challenge submitted by the One Crofton nonprofit, which was launched by local families following the Anne Arundel County Public Schools' redistricting approval in 2025.
