Funds and awareness raised at Hospice of the Chesapeake's inaugural bridge tournament
Organizers hope to offer a second event in the fall
Hospice of the Chesapeake hosted its inaugural Memorial Bridge Tournament April 20 on the nonprofit’s John & Cathy Belcher Campus, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena. The duplicate bridge tournament was run by certified director Bob Edwards, Non-ACBL. Entrance fees and other donations helped the nonprofit raise nearly $600.
The winners of the tournament were North/South pair Barbara Strawberry and Pat Edwards and East/West pair Mustafa Guldu and Jay Musterman. Each pair received a bottle of Hospice of the Chesapeake’s Caring for Life vintage charity label wine.
“The players had a great time and would like us to do it again,” said Debbi McGlauflin, the nonprofit’s Annual Fund Coordinator. A bridge player herself, she organized the event and said they hope to be able to offer a second event in the fall.
