PASADENA, MD — A Pasadena home caught on fire over the weekend after the occupant accidentally ignited combustible materials while using a gas-fed Coleman grill as a heater. The home does not have electricity. The fire broke out a little after 8 a.m. Nov. 16 at a two-story single-family home at 139 Dale Road.

When the first set of firefighters arrived on the scene, they noticed the fire had spread throughout the first and second floors of the home, according to a fire department report. It took almost 40 firefighters approximately 30 minutes to battle the blaze and get it under control. The Anne Arundel County Fire Department Fire and Explosives Investigation Unit determined the fire to be accidental in nature. The owner has been displaced from the home and is being assisted by the Red Cross.
