Lake Shore Rotary Hosts Crab Soup Cook Off
The event will take place on Sunday at Kurtz's beach.

The is hosting their third annual Crab Soup Cook Off from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at .
The cook-off is the Rotary Club’s biggest fundraising event of the year with a large portion of this weekend’s proceeds going to a scholarship fund for and High School students.
“The money goes to our scholarship program as well as other organizations in the Pasadena area,” said event co-chairman Larry Sanders “It also goes to a program we run called the Dictionary Project for third-graders.”

Throughout the year, the Lake Shore Rotary Club participates in a number of service projects. Founded in 1948, the club has been serving the Pasadena community through various projects for a long time.
Sunday’s cook-off features samples of Maryland crab and cream of crab soup prepared by the area’s top restaurants and individuals.

“Last year we had 458 people attend the event and this year we are hoping for at least 600,” said Sanders. “All of the money raised Sunday stays in Pasadena.”
Other than quality food, the cook-off will also feature a 50-50 raffle.
“It is a nice social event,” Sanders said. “People come to meet up with friends and it is a nice event for the community.”
Tickets for the Crab Soup Cook Off are $10 for ages 16 and older; $5 for children ages 6-15; and children younger than 6 are free. Tickets are available at the door. Advanced tickets can be purchased at on Magothy Beach Road.
