MD Man Facing Nearly Dozen Charges For Anne Arundel Co. Road Rage Incident

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — A Beltsville man is facing nearly a dozen charges after police say he waved a gun and pointed it at a man during an altercation in the Pasadena area.

Anne Arundel County Police said in a Wednesday release that officers responded Tuesday around 9:45 a.m. to reports of a road rage incident near the intersection of Woodland Road and Obrecht Road.

At the scene, officers learned that 37-year-old Stanley Keith Sargeant had pointed a handgun at a man while in the parking lot of an Orrstown Bank on Jumpers Hole Road.

While Sargeant drove away from the scene before police arrived, officers tracked down his vehicle to the intersection of West Pasadena Road and Melchior Road. He had been driving a white Dodge Ram truck.

Court records show Sargeant is facing 11 charges, including first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment, among other gun-related charges.

Sargeant was released from custody after posting a $10,000 personal bond. He is expected to appear for a preliminary hearing Oct. 21 in Annapolis.
