Man Breaks Into Neighbors' Apartment, Demands Cash: Police

Police said a man broke into his neighbors' apartment and demanded cash at knifepoint. Officers believe one person was under the influence.

PASADENA, MD — Police accused a Pasadena man of breaking into his neighbors' apartment last Thursday morning and demanding cash.

Officers suspect that one person was under the influence of drugs during the encounter in the 8800 block of Fort Smallwood Road. Police did not specify whether they believed it was the suspect or one of the victims. The arrestee's official charges do not list any drug crimes.

The lower level of the accused man's home houses a privately-rented apartment where the victims live, an incident report said. The victims told police they were in bed when the suspect broke in around 7:15 a.m., armed with a knife.

Police noted that the man and the woman refused to give money to the accused man. The suspect tried to punch the male victim, the write-up informed, and the female punched the suspect. The accused man dropped the weapon, and the victims chased him upstairs, the report explained.

Officers said they found the suspect, 30-year-old Christopher Blane Brown, upstairs in the main residence. The Anne Arundel County Police Department arrested Brown and charged him accordingly, the press release concluded.
