Maryland Gets Grant Money to fill jobs for the Marine / Boating Trades Industry. Summer part time, full-time.Chesapeake Bay area, Maryland.

As part of the Maryland Employment Advancement Right Now (EARN) Program, the Marine Trades Association of Maryland is helping to fill jobs in the boating industry in the Chesapeake Bay area. Offering skills training, job placement and career assistance for the unemployed or under-employed workers. Starting in 2014, EARN Maryland is a state-funded, competitive workforce development grant program that is industry-led, regional in focus, and a proven strategy for helping businesses cultivate a skilled workforce. It is flexible and innovative, designed to ensure that Maryland employers have the skilled workers they need to compete and grow in an ever-changing 21st -century economy. More than $8 million in state, federal and foundation funding has been awarded to EARN grant recipients in many different workforce industries.
There are jobs opportunities in the Maritime/Marine Trades with a shortage in marine electricians, outboard technicians, engine and diesel mechanics, and marine systems technicians.
The Marine Trades Industry Partnership (MTAM) is offering 6-week paid internships for young people at the start of their career, leading to permanent work. We are looking for people who are enthusiastic, eager, and have a strong desire to succeed!
