PASADENA, MD — Anne Arundel County police charged Pasadena resident Mark Edward Rutkowski, 54, with one count of making a threat of mass violence he threatened to shoot his colleagues at work. The misdemeanor charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years incarceration or a fine capped at $10,000.

Rutkowski was fired last week from his job at Gischel Machine Shop. Police say employees told them he threatened to "shoot this whole place up," and listed the workers he'd kill first. Officers discovered an arsenal of almost 150 handguns, rifles, shotguns and an assault-style rifle in the home when they served an Extreme Risk Protection Order.

Assistant State's Attorney Colin Kelly said some weapons were registered to Rutkowski's father. Police confiscated Rutkowski's and his elderly father’s arsenal of weapons that were contained in the home at 8000 block of Miramar Road.
