School Properties Eyed For Cell Phone Towers, Board To Discuss
On May 20, the Anne Arundel County Board of Education will discuss allowing cell phone towers at Shady Side and Chesapeake schools.
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Two cell phone tower projects will be discussed at the Anne Arundel County board of education's May 20 meeting held virtually starting at 5:30 p.m. Cell phone towers are proposed to be located at Shady Side Elementary School and Chesapeake High School.
The board first reviewed the Shady Side Elementary School cell phone tower project June 2017. After a few other discussions, the board asked Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman to consider another site elsewhere and will receive information about other options at the meeting. The board first reviewed the Chesapeake High School cell phone tower project Jan. 8.
The board will meet virtually in a public session at 5:30 p.m. for the purpose of voting to immediately go into closed session, during which time it will discuss confidential matters as permitted by the Maryland Open Meetings Act including, but not limited to, legal advice, personnel and negotiations. The closed session is not open to the public. The public session of the meeting will begin at 7 p.m.
