Mike Kaminski is a 1965 graduate of Brooklyn Park High School. After serving in the Air Force in Southeast Asia, Vietnam and Washington, D.C., he worked for the Bureau of Customs in Washington as a Graphic Art Illustrator before joining the Baltimore City Police Department in 1973. Mike was assigned to Western District after graduation from the academy where he quickly learned “there are laws and then there are rules”.

After the police strike in 1974, Mike resigned from Baltimore City and became an Anne Arundel County Police Officer. Eventually, he was assigned to the Vice and Narcotics Unit. His years and experiences as a police officer and undercover detective are the primary basis of his book, LIFE AFTER RUSSIAN ROULETTE.

When he resigned from the police department in 1979, Mike created a private investigative agency. In 1985, he moved to Pennsylvania and eventually entered Lancaster Theological Seminary in 1986.

In his journey through life, Mike became an ordained minister working in parish ministry, created and published two magazines, has written books on the Sikh Faith and finally wrote and published his true story, LIFE AFTER RUSSIAN ROULETTE, a psychological thriller based on true accounts about his life as a police officer and undercover detective with both Baltimore City and Anne Arundel County.

Currently, Mike Kaminski is under contract with a producer and screenwriter in Los Angeles that want to create a TV series and possible movie book and life story. He is working on the pilot episode for the series.

After his wife died in 2005, Mike created an organization and memorial fund in memory of her that works with community awareness and education to issues pertaining to domestic violence and sexual abuse. He also has a workshop called “Perception of Self” and is a public speaker. Part of his workshop and topics pertain to his alcoholism, addiction, recovery, depression and suicidal ideations during the years he was a police officer.
