AVFD Fire-Rescue Log

Recent activity of Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department.

During the period Sept. 11-18, AVFD received 76 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:

Sept. 12: At 10:26 a.m., a motor vehicle accident with injury was reported on I-695 between Frederick Road and Wilkens Avenue in Catonsville. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville career stations responded and transported one person with non-life-threatening injuries to a local hospital.

Sept. 12: At 3:03 p.m., a motor vehile accident with injury was reported on Washington Boulevard at I-695 in Lansdowne. Crews from the AVFD and Halethorpe career station responded. Two people with non-life-threatening injuries were taken to a local hospital.

Sept. 13: At 3:19 p.m., a truck fire was reported on I-695 between Wilkens Avenue and Frederick Road in Catonsville. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville and Woodlawn career stations responded. A small fire was extinguished.

Sept. 14: At 3:20 a.m., a dwelling fire with people trapped was reported on the 1100-block of Elmridge Avenue in Arbutus. Crews from the Arbutus, English Consul, Lansdowne and Violetville volunteer stations and Catonsville, Halethorpe and Westview career stations responded. A bedroom fire was extinguished with no injuries reported.

Sept. 14: At 7:07 a.m., an injured subject was reported on the 1300-block of Poplar Avenue in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded and transported one seriously injured person to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
