Beechfield Shooting Yields Murder Charge: Baltimore County Police

A man got into an argument outside his home near Arbutus Tuesday, then went inside, got his gun and shot the other party, police reported.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD - A man was charged with murder after a shooting in the Beechfield area on the Fourth of July, according to police.

Raymond Vladas Armalis Jr., 37, shot another man after they argued outside Armalis's home in the 1000 block of South Beechfield Avenue, police said. The argument began before 8 p.m. on Tuesday and at some point, officials said Armalis retrieved a gun inside the home, then shot the man in the upper body.

A neighbor called authorities to report a shooting, and despite officials rendering first aid, the victim was later pronounced deceased at the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, police said.

The victim has been identified as Charles Edward Watson Jr., 46, of the 700 block of North Ashburton Street in Baltimore. Police said he had been visiting his girlfriend at the time of the shooting.

Officials said they took Armalis into custody without incident. He was charged with first and second-degree murder and is being held without bail.
