Motorcyclist Killed In Route 1 Crash In Halethorpe: Police

Police said a teen on a motorcycle died Wednesday after being hit by an SUV on Washington Boulevard.

HALETHORPE, MD — A motorcyclist died following a crash Wednesday afternoon on Route 1 in Halethorpe, police said. According to investigators, the motorcyclist was hit by an SUV turning at the intersection of Monumental Road.

Agha Dilawar Khan, 18, of the 1800 block of Winans Avenue, was pronounced deceased at the scene, police reported.

Officials said Khan had been riding his 2013 Kawasaki motorcycle north on Route 1/Washington Boulevard around 2:25 p.m. when a southbound 1999 Chevrolet Suburban began turning left onto Monumental Road and hit him.

The driver of the Suburban remained at the scene, police said, and the crash remains under investigation. The Suburban driver was not identified.

Khan was approximately .7 mile from home when the collision occurred.
