Rainbow Robber Sentenced to 9 Years: U.S. Attorney
For robbing several Baltimore area businesses, including Rainbow Clothing in Arbutus, man will serve nearly a decade in jail.
A Baltimore man was sentenced to nine years in prison Friday for his involvement in five robberies in the metro area, including one in Arbutus, according to the U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland.
Randy Jones, 39, of the 2900 block of West Cold Spring Lane, accepted a plea agreement for his role in robbing several stores between August and December 2014, the U.S. Attorney reported:
- 7-Eleven, 8621 Pleasant Plains Road, Towson; Sept. 27, 2014
- Rainbow Clothing, 1066 Maiden Choice Lane, Arbutus; Aug. 26, 2014
- Metro PCS in Baltimore
- Game Stop, 8067 Liberty Road in Milford Mill; two robberies, one on Sept. 24, 2014
His alleged partner in crime, Darryl Norris, was sentenced in October 2015 to nine years in prison as well, the U.S. Attorney reported.

In the most serious of the robberies—GameStop on Liberty Road on Sept. 24, 2014—authorities said the suspects pointed guns that looked real at an employee to get the worker to open the register, then zip-tied the employee’s hands.
They forced the employee to show them the safe, stole the worker’s cell phone and left with $7,833.79 in cash and merchandise, according to the U.S. Attorney.

Officials allege Jones robbed the same GameStop twice.
The total loss from the five robberies was $15,312.51, according to the U.S. Attorney.
In addition to nine years in prison, Jones was sentenced to three years of supervised probation, according to the report.
