1 Baltimore School Closed For Heat On Friday

BREAKING: One school in Baltimore City is closed due to the heat.

BALTIMORE, MD — One Baltimore City school is closed on Friday, May 4, due to heat. KIPP Harmony/Kipp Ujima is closed.

The high is about 93 degrees in Baltimore on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

School officials announced that the building would be closed Thursday evening.

The closure comes the day after multiple schools were closed early due to heat.

Heat resulted in the 1 p.m. closure of these schools on Thursday, May 3: Highlandtown Elementary/Middle, Lockerman Bundy Elementary, New Era Academy High School, Tench Tilghman Elementary School and William Paca Elementary.

According to Fox 45, there are 60 Baltimore City Public Schools that do not have modern air conditioning.
