Join us at Gallery 1448 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. for the opening reception of Richard Roth: Through the Years.
Richard Roth is a Baltimore artist whose work is deeply shaped by the city he adopted in 1961. Originally visiting college friends, he was captivated by Baltimore’s industrial landscape and historic seaport, ultimately choosing to stay and build both his life and career there as an educator and artist.
His paintings and sculptural objects are created through construction-based methods and layered with the textures, surfaces, and finishes of the working world. Baltimore’s history, grit, and resilience remain central sources of inspiration throughout his work.
Roth graduated from Ball State University and later earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from MICA. He retired from Catonsville Community College, where he served as Chair of the Sculpture Department.

This glorious season finale will mark the end of Maestro Dimmock’s 38- year tenure as the Founding Music Director of Bach in Baltimore. he will continue to be involved with the choir and orchestra, conducting two concerts next season.
The works chosen for this concert are all among the Maestro’s favorites. It is a majestic celebration of sacred masterworks, bringing together the towering legacies of Bach, Handel, and Fauré—a sweeping, musical tapestry that honors the divine in its many forms. it also features our new Taylor and Boody continuo organ in selected pieces. St. David's Baltimore commemorates Pride Month with a Recital and Evensong celebrating music of Queer composers and Queer experiences, beginning with a recital by baritone Rahzé Sinclair at 4:30 pm, followed by the Service of Evensong, featuring Sinclair's Preces &amp; Responses and Benjamin Britten's "Hymn to St. Cecilia."

Bill Frisell, guitar Luke Bergman, bass Tim Angulo, drums
Bill Frisell’s career as a guitarist and composer has spanned more than 40 years and many celebrated recordings, whose catalog has been cited by Downbeat as “the best recorded output of the decade”. Recognized as one of America’s 21 most vital and productive performing artists, Frisell was named an inaugural Doris Duke Artist in 2012. He is also a recipient of grants from United States Artists, Meet the Composer among others. In 2016, he was a beneficiary of the first Fresh Grass Composition commission to preserve and support innovative grassroots music. Upon San Francisco Jazz opening their doors in 2013, he served as one of their Resident Artistic Directors. Bill is also the subject of a documentary film by director Emma Franz, entitled Bill Frisell: A Portrait, which examines his creative process in depth. He has received an honorary doctorate from the Berklee College of Music.

Christopher Michael Stevens is a contemporary GRAMMY® Nominated songwriter, arranger and trumpeter. Christopher has had a lifetime's worth of career experiences that began when he was just a teenager. In his early days, he traveled the world with Sony Music recording artist, Tye Tribbett and G.A. as a member of the band Soundcheck. He has since gone on to perform with an array of award winning artists across several genres such as The Roots, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Darryl Hall, John Legend, Eric Roberson, Michael McDonald, Eddie Levert, Earth, Wind &amp; Fire and more. He also has credits on several dozen recordings including Diana Ross' most recent album, "Thank You".
Christopher has had on-screen roles in the highly decorated film "La La Land" and the Amazon original series "A League Of Their Own". He also scored four feature films (Who Is Christmas Eve?, Love You Right: An R&amp;B Type Musical, Walking On, and Lowest Places: Lost Time) and two short films. He can be heard as a featured soloist on the 2021 film "Really Love" as well as on the television shows "Cherish The Day" and "The Equalizer".

The Baltimore Children &amp; Youth Fund (BCYF) invites you to its 2026 Community Exhibition, a free evening of live performances, interactive exhibits, food, and community connection at the University of Maryland BioPark.
The Exhibition transforms the BioPark into a walkable, two-floor experience where you can explore hands-on stations, watch live storytelling and open mic performances, check out a photo booth, and meet the people behind programs serving Baltimore’s kids and young adults. The whole evening is set up like a science fair for grown-ups, with real projects, real creativity, and real impact from organizations across the city on display at every turn.
Highlights include:
•Live storytelling performances and an open mic
•Interactive exhibits from organizations like CHARM, Nuestras Raíces, Expanding Boundaries International, the Equity Project Foundation, and more
•A Baltimore Youth Master Plan station where you can share ideas and help shape the future of youth programs in the city

•A photo booth, creative branding activities, and take-home keepsakes
•Food, dessert, and plenty of space to connect with neighbors and community leaders

Baltimore Children & Youth Fund Community Exhibition 2026

GRAMMY®-nominated tenor saxophonist and composer Melissa Aldana is internationally recognized for her profound musicality, fearless improvisation, and deeply personal storytelling through. Born in Santiago, Chile, in 1988, Aldana grew up in a family of musicians and began performing professionally as a teenager under the guidance of her father, renowned saxophonist Marcos Aldana. Influenced by Sonny Rollins, Wayne Shorter, and Mark Turner, she has developed a distinct voice that balances jazz tradition with bold innovation.
In 2013, she became the first female instrumentalist and first South American to win the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone Competition—a historic milestone that launched her onto the global stage. As a leader, Aldana has released seven critically acclaimed albums, including Free Fall (2010), Second Cycle (2012), Melissa Aldana &amp; Crash Trio (2014), Back Home (2016), Visions (2019), 12 Stars (2022), and Echoes of the Inner Prophet (2024). Her two most recent projects, both on Blue Note Records, solidify her reputation as one of the defining voices of her generation. Her music embodies a fearless spirit and visionary creativity that bridges past, present, and future in contemporary jazz.

This&nbsp;Frankie&nbsp;Beverly Tribute Band&nbsp;features singer&nbsp;Paul Bumbry as&nbsp;Frankie&nbsp;Beverly&nbsp;and an All-Star Band of talented musicians from around the country complete with blazing backing vocals. This is a non-stop, hit packed show spanning up to 90 minutes and bringing the music and memories of&nbsp;Frankie&nbsp;to audiences of all generations.&nbsp;Paul Bumbry, who has the amazing voice range and movement of his life-long idol&nbsp;Frankie&nbsp;Beverly, highlights the early years of Maze.
The&nbsp;Frankie&nbsp;Beverly Cover Band, Performs all of&nbsp;Frankie's biggest hits including “Before I Let Go,” We Are One,” “Happy Feelins”, “Southern Girl”, “Back in Stride”, “Joy &amp; Pain”, and so many more!

Baltimore Streetcar Museum

Ride Streetcars &amp; Be Gay
The Clifton Pleasure Club is teaming up with the Baltimore Streetcar Museum for our second annual Pride Party! Last year, seeing streetcars full of queer people heading down the tracks laughing and flirting together felt genuinely magical, so obviously we had to do it again.
The kind of party we’re hosting is less “big corporate Pride” and “more old school dyke lot behind the Hippo back in the day.” Hanging out outside with your people. Meeting someone cute. Running into friends you haven’t seen in forever. Sharing snacks, having a couple drinks, dancing a little, and laughing a lot. The party that we’re throwing is the kind of Pride we want to see in the world.
The Streetcar Museum gives us plenty of room to spread out, with indoor space, outdoor space, and a big grassy area (feel free to bring your own camp chair!). DJ Rosie will be keeping things fun with throwback favorites, newer queer anthems, and the kind of music that makes you want to dance.
We’re going to have a few queer vendors as well as our concession stand so please bring some cash and remember that any money you spend at our event goes to queer people in your community. There will also be a queer art exhibit because are is inherently political, a thing we need as much today as we ever have.
Tickets for the “Off the Rails PRIDE PARTY” are $25 per person

musical improv time in your day, this is your welcome mat!

 you love making up songs in the shower or in the car? Ever find 
yourself singing along to karaoke, wishing you could create your own 
lyrics on the spot? Have you always wanted to try songwriting, musical 
improv, or musical theater, but weren’t sure where to start? Been 
curious about improvised songs, but unsure where to begin?
​Join 
us for musical improv! It's all about creating songs together as a 
group. It’s improv with music! Hosted every second Saturday of the 
month, this two hour event is sure to press all your musical and improv 
buttons. All experience levels are welcome. Really!
​You don’t 
need any experience with improv, singing, or theater. We’ll guide you 
with playful group warmups, clear examples, and step-by-step games that 
make it easy to try anything that we do.
​This monthly open event 
can feature a whole array of musical improv activities that can change 
month to month. Sometimes it may revolve around an instructional 
workshop, other times it may be revolve around playing specific games 
suggested by the community.
