1 Dead In Fall From I-395 Bridge After Baltimore Crash: Police
One person died after a crash and a 100-foot fall from the I-395 bridge into water Sunday night, Baltimore police said.
BALTIMORE, MD — Baltimore authorities recovered the body of a person who was thrown from a crash site on an Interstate 395 bridge into water below Sunday night. A collision on 395 South resulted in a civilian falling over the Jersey wall into the water below, police said.
Southbound I-395 was closed at the intersection with southbound Interstate 95 for a time.
Baltimore City fire spokesman Kevin Cartwright told WBAL that paramedics were called to a crash around 9:45 p.m. on I-395, when another multi-vehicle collision occurred. The second crash caused the person to fall from the bridge more than 100 feet.

"While our paramedics were on scene at that location, assessing a victim for a motor-vehicle collision, a multi-vehicle collision occurred, causing one individual at the scene to fall over the Jersey wall into the water," Cartwright told WBAL.
The Baltimore City dive team located an unconscious and non-responsive victim who was recovered at the scene, according to the department.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim. The person who fell may have been helping people involved in the first crash, WBAL reported.
Maryland Transportation Authority police are investigating the accident.
