15-Year-Old Girl Killed In Baltimore; Police Seek Tips
Several people were there when Ja'Nyi Weeden, 15, was killed in Baltimore, according to authorities.

BALTIMORE, MD — After a 15-year-old girl was gunned down in southwest Baltimore, police put out a plea for help in identifying her killer.
Ja'Nyi Weeden, 15, was "in the presence of several people" when she was shot in the 3700 block of Gleston Drive on Tuesday, Aug. 10, according to authorities.
Police said everyone who had been around Ja'Nyi at the time of the shooting left before officers got to the scene.

She is one of 23 female homicide victims so far this year in Baltimore and among nine people killed in the city under age 18 in 2021, according to The Baltimore Sun.

Baltimore has recorded 211 homicides so far this year, compared with 205 homicides in 2020 at this time, police reported Monday, Aug. 16.
