2 Children Among 3 Dead In SE Baltimore Row Home Fire: Report
Nearly 20 people were displaced following the blaze that broke out in the 3400 block of East Lombard Street in Highlandtown
BALTIMORE, MD — Three people, including two children, are dead following an early-week row home fire in Southeast Baltimore, according to a report citing fire officials.
Baltimore City fire officials told CBS Baltimore that a 13-year-old girl who had been hospitalized following the Tuesday blaze died Thursday. An 8-year-old boy died hours after he was rescued, according to the report, and a 22-year-old man died Wednesday at the hospital.
Earlier this week, fire officials said crews responded to the blaze in the 3400 block of East Lombard Street shortly after 2 a.m. Tuesday. When crews arrived, officials said they found a two-story brick home engulfed in flames with heavy smoke coming from the first and second floors.

On Wednesday, Baltimore City Councilman Zeke Cohen told CBS Baltimore the city would work with the MONSE's victim services team and the Red Cross to aid displaced residents.
"This is an all-in effort," Cohen told the station. "This is what Highlandtown does. We rally around each other but again my heart is really broken for this family. Just speaking as a father with two young kids myself, there is literally nothing worse that I could think of than what occurred."
