A man who lives across the street said he heard his neighbor had fallen, and he went in to help rescue her, crediting God for putting him "in the right place at the right time," WMAR reported.

The Red Cross was assisting 23 people impacted by the fire, the organization's National Capital & Greater Chesapeake Region chapter reported Friday afternoon.

Temperatures were in the 90s Friday in Baltimore. Due to the heat, a refrigeration truck and a comfort bus were called in to keep firefighters cool, according to the Baltimore Firefighters IAFF Local 734.
