6-Year-Old Shoots, Injures Little Brother; Father Charged: Police

A 4-year-old was shot in the upper body by his big brother after they found their father's gun in northeast Baltimore, police said.

BALTIMORE, MD — A 4-year-old was hospitalized and his father charged after a shooting Friday night in northeast Baltimore, according to police.

The 4-year-old and his 6-year-old brother had found a gun in their residence Friday night while their father was at home, police said.

Authorities allege the 6-year-old accidentally shot his 4-year-old brother in the upper body.

Their father — Lamont Pulley, 30, of the 5800 block of Falkirk Road — was charged with leaving a firearm where a minor could access it and contributing to child delinquency, court records show.

Pulley took the 4-year-old to the hospital, where the child was treated for a gunshot wound and was in stable condition, police said; he was expected to survive his injuries.

After taking his son to the hospital, Pulley was transported to central booking, where he was charged. He posted bond Saturday and was released, court records show.

He is slated to appear for a hearing in Baltimore City District Court on April 11.
