7-Day Decline In ICU Patients With Virus At Maryland Hospitals
For the seventh day in a row, the number of ICU patients with the virus has decreased, according to the Maryland Department of Health.
MARYLAND — Coronavirus-related metrics continue to trend down in Maryland, which is days into stage two of reopening, except for three jurisdictions that remain in stage one. The number of coronavirus patients on the intensive care unit (ICU) is down for the 7th consecutive day, and hospitalizations due to the virus overall have been trending down for nearly two weeks in the state, data shows.
There are 386 patients in the ICU with the virus statewide as of Tuesday, according to officials.
"Maryland has now completed 443,478 COVID-19 tests, and the statewide positivity rate has fallen to 7.15 percent, down more than 73 percent from its peak on April 17," Gov. Larry Hogan tweeted Tuesday morning. There are more than 100 places in the state to get tested for the virus.

"Total current hospitalizations have fallen to 970," Hogan said Tuesday, one day after the state reported hospitalizations were under 1,000.
In Maryland 58,904 people have tested positive for the coronavirus, state health officials reported Tuesday morning, an increase of 500 confirmed cases in the past day. A total of 2,686 people in Maryland have died from the virus.

Prince George's and Montgomery counties and Baltimore City remain in stage one, by order of their local leaders.
Prince George's County has the most confirmed coronavirus cases at 16,636. It has also had 583 deaths as of Tuesday related to the virus, officials say.
Montgomery County leads the state in fatalities from COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus, with 628 confirmed deaths as of Tuesday, according to health department data. It also has 12,968 coronavirus cases.
Baltimore County has the third most cases and deaths with 6,853 and 379, respectively, while Baltimore City is fourth with 6,355 confirmed cases of the virus and 279 COVID-19 deaths.
