8 Things To Do In Baltimore's Station North Neighborhood

Looking for a night exploring the arts? Check out Baltimore's Station North Arts & Entertainment District for restaurants and live theater.

Visit The Station North Arts and Entertainment District for a fun weekend out. Visit the neighborhood most often referred to as simply Station North.

You'll be in an area designated as an official arts and entertainment district in Baltimore.

Marked by a combination of artistic ventures including theaters and museums, the neighborhood's abandoned warehouses now are loft-style living.

The district is bound by 20th Street on the north, on the east by Greenmount Avenue, and on the south and west by Amtrak's Northeast Corridor train tracks. Here are a few highlights:

1. The Charles Theater
The Charles shows indie films and has very buttery popcorn.

2. The Parkway Theater
This arthouse cinema also books the occasional blockbuster. The Parkway has extremely good popcorn and craft beer!

3. The Motor House
Check out the evening programming at this non-profit arts hub, gallery, and performance space.

4. Green Mount Cemetery
The final resting place of some of Baltimore’s most illustrious power brokers and philanthropists is also home to the unmarked grave of John Wilkes Booth. The cemetery is open for self-guided walking tours., and the art and architecture alone are worth a visit.

5. Station North Books
When you get some downtime, you'll love browsing this classic used bookstore and coffee shop.

6. Club Charles
Club Chuck is a Baltimore institution. it’s blood-red inside, the floors are sticky, and once I bumped into John Waters there while heading to the restroom and he was super annoyed at me. This could happen to you, too, if you’re lucky!

7. The Crown
Super inclusive bar/place to dance/do karaoke, etc. Also, there is a Korean restaurant on the ground floor that is open pretty late!

8. The BIG Theater
Free shows every night of the week. Events at the theater are hosted by the Baltimore Improv Group, a nonprofit that wants to help the region love improv comedy. The collective entertains with over 350 live shows each year including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

With an annual audience of over 5,000 people, the group's over 100 regular performers and volunteers present audiences with live comedy shows every night of the week.
