Amber Alert Canceled For 12-Year-Old Girl

Police canceled an Amber alert for a 12-year-old girl who officials said may have been abducted.

BALTIMORE, MD — Authorities have canceled an Amber alert for a missing 12-year-old girl. She had been reported missing on Tuesday, May 28.

By Wednesday morning, Heydi Chavarria had been located alive and unharmed, according to the Maryland Center for Missing and Unidentified Persons.

PREVIOUS REPORT — An Amber alert has been issued for a missing 12-year-old girl, according to police. She may be with a 23-year-old man, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Police issued a lookout for a silver Honda Accord with Maryland tags 8DM8821 on Tuesday, May 28.

Heydi Chavarria, 12, may have been abducted, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. She was last seen at 9 p.m. Tuesday in the 1700 block of McHenry Street in Baltimore and was wearing a yellow shirt, blue pants and white shoes.

Oscar Jonatan Cruz, 23, is described as 5-feet-6-inches tall and 184 pounds.

Anyone who sees the vehicle, Chavarria or Cruz is asked to call #711 or 911, or call the Baltimore Police Department at 443-902-4824.
