'American Ninja Warrior' Is Filming In Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD — A series of obstacles are set up in Rash Field near Baltimore's Inner Harbor as "American Ninja Warrior" will be filming in Charm City. It marks the fourth stop on the hit NBC show's seven-city tour this spring.

"American Ninja Warrior" follows contestants as they take on obstacle courses at various cities through qualifying rounds, culminating in the finals, where a $1 million prize is up for grabs.

Now in its eighth season, the show will be filming in Baltimore for a second time. The last time was in 2013.

Since then, a few things have shifted.

"This season will bring some new, significant changes to the course and the game play, including new rules for the mega-warped wall and never-before-seen obstacles," according to a statement from "American Ninja Warrior."

The 18-foot mega-warped wall was introduced last season and the entry age was also lowered to 19, "which ushered in a new generation of strong, swift ninjas," officials said.

Among those making appearances at the obstacle course set up around the Inner Harbor will be the Oriole bird and Ravens mascot Poe, according to a press release.

There were 90 people who competed in Baltimore on Sunday, of whom 30 made it to the second round on Monday, according to local NBC affiliate WBAL, which reported 15 contestants will be selected after Monday's trials to go on to the finals in Las Vegas.

After making its stop in Baltimore, the show will go for the first time to the Pacific Northwest.

The episode of "American Ninja Warrior" filmed in Baltimore will reportedly air on NBC on June 17.
