Weather forecast:
1. Lawsuit against Baltimore mayor emerges amid EEOC call for discrimination cases with white, male plaintiffs (afro.com) — A former East Baltimore Development Inc. executive has filed a federal lawsuit and EEOC complaint accusing Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott and others of racial discrimination in his termination. The case, which city officials say they’ll address in court, comes amid growing national scrutiny of diversity, equity, and inclusion programs and rising “reverse discrimination” claims.
2. Baltimore police ramp up dirt bike enforcement (thefreestatepress.com) — Baltimore residents are being urged to help police crack down on illegal dirt bikes and off-road vehicles on city streets, with tougher enforcement now underway. The city ordinance bans riding, possessing, or fueling unregistered dirt bikes in Baltimore, with fines up to $1,000 or 90 days in jail, and offers anonymous tip lines to report violators or storage locations.
3. Baltimore Mesivta Founding Class Graduates (collive.com) — Baltimore’s Mesivta Lubavitch is celebrating a major milestone as its founding class graduates and advances to prominent yeshivas worldwide. Enrollment has nearly tripled since opening, prompting construction of a larger study hall and expanded Torah learning initiatives that are shaping the city’s growing community of bochurim.
4. SUN: Baltimore swimmers take on Harbor Splash as water hits 'tipping point' (foxbaltimore.com) — Dozens of residents and visitors actually swam in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor at Fells Point on Sunday, enjoying 69-degree water under sunny, 80-degree skies. Organizers say improving water-quality indicators made the Harbor Splash possible, even as some measures still lag and many Baltimoreans remain cautious about jumping in.
5. Cowser HR, 4 RBIs back solid start by Bradish in Orioles' 9-5 victory over Toronto (wbal.com) — Baltimore sports fans get a bright spot as the Orioles capped their homestand with a 9–5 win over Toronto, powered by Colton Cowser’s homer and four RBIs. Kyle Bradish delivered seven strong innings, and Baltimore now heads to Boston after winning seven of their last ten at home.
