Officials say the shift, triggered by regional drought and declining reservoir levels, is temporary and that all drinking water will continue to meet safety standards.
3. 'Gives you hope': New simulator at Kennedy Krieger helps patients regain driving independence (wmar2news.com) — A new driving simulator at Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore is helping spinal cord injury patients safely rebuild the skills and confidence needed to drive again. Therapists use realistic scenarios and adaptive hand controls to assess readiness, while patients like Jean Hudson say the technology restores independence and hope. Officials expect about 100 patients a year to benefit.
4. Baltimore County crews respond to Amtrak car fire in Essex (wbal.com) — An Amtrak car caught fire in nearby Essex Friday evening, forcing the evacuation of at least 25 passengers and causing minor injuries to two people, with firefighters still on scene. Service holds are delaying trains arriving in Baltimore from Philadelphia and those heading south to Washington, so expect disruptions if you're riding the corridor tonight.
