Animal Cruelty Investigation Underway In Southeast Baltimore

Two cats were found at the Baltimore Travel Plaza in a crate, and authorities said one was deceased.

BALTIMORE, MD — An animal cruelty investigation is underway in southeast Baltimore. The case stems from a Jan. 2 call that involved trauma to two cats, according to the Baltimore Police Department.

An animal enforcement officer was called to the Baltimore Travel Plaza for a report of an injured animal at approximately 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2, authorities reported.

Two cats were found in a plastic crate near the complex in the 5600 block of O'Donnell Street.

One animal was deceased, police said.

The other, an injured cat, was taken to the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS) for evaluation, according to WBAL.
