Annual 'Casual Day For A Cause' raises money for A.L.S. Families
Eastern Savings Bank raises more than $1,000 through annual 'Causal Day'
Right before the Labor Day weekend, Hunt Valley-based business Eastern Savings Bank hosted a casual day for a cause event with tailgating atmosphere and modified ice bucket challenge to benefit ALS patient support organization, the Brigance Brigade Foundation. Associates of Eastern Savings Bank raised funds to douse Mr. Richard Zeskind, Senior VP and General Counsel of the Bank (and a longtime, dedicated supporter of the Brigance Brigade Foundation), with piercing cold ice water. In addition to getting drenched by associates, Mr. Zeskind completed 10 burpees and 25 diamond push-ups. The event raised more than $1,000 for ALS families in need!
“This year we are focused on helping ALS families to thrive,” said Amanda Mummert, Foundation Director. “The Brigance Brigade Foundation not only works to help people battling ALS live each day, but live each day to the fullest. It’s partners like Eastern Savings Bank who make our work possible.”
The Brigance Brigade Foundation’s vision is to realize a world where people touched by ALS thrive with purpose and passion. Eleven years after O.J. Brigance’s ALS diagnosis, he still gets up every day and goes to work in the front office of the Baltimore Ravens while also acting as Board Chair of the Brigance Brigade Foundation with his wife, co-founder, and Vice Chair, Chanda. The Brigances have faced adversity head-on and want to help others by creating the opportunity to do the same.
