Armed Robber Shot In Store Holdup: Baltimore Police

Police said a store robbery led to a shooting Saturday night in southeast Baltimore.

BALTIMORE, MD — Police said a store owner shot an armed robber Saturday night in southeast Baltimore. The suspect ran from the scene and collapsed nearby, according to authorities.

Southeast district patrol officers were called to the 2300 block of Fleet Street for a report of a shooting at 7:29 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12.

When they arrived, officers said they talked to a store employee who told them a man had walked into the business with a gun and announced a robbery.

The employee was also armed with a gun and shot the suspect, police reported.

According to WJZ, the store where the shooting occurred was House of Spirits.

Authorities said the suspect left and collapsed in the 500 block of Collington Avenue.

He was hospitalized with serious injuries after the shooting, Fox 45. reported.
